What documents do I need?

Before you can move into your UniBed student accommodation, please ensure you have the following documents ready:

Acceptance letter from the university

Valid Passport or ID

Student Finance documents

Visa Information (for international students)

Insurance documents

Bank details along with a bank statement

Do I need a deposit?

"Yes, indeed! When securing your student accommodation, a deposit serves as a mutual safeguard for both you and the property owner. With Unibed, this deposit ensures that your chosen property is exclusively reserved for you, preventing others from booking it. Moreover, it provides the landlord with confidence in your commitment to uphold the terms of the tenancy agreement.

In the student accommodation rental market, requesting a deposit is a customary practice and signifies the initial financial transaction between you and the property owner. By fulfilling this requirement, you've successfully taken the first step toward confirming your student accommodation with Unibed."

What is a guarantor & do I need one?

A guarantor is required when booking through Unibed to provide financial security for both the tenant (student) and the landlord or property owner. Since many students may have limited income or credit history, landlords may perceive them as higher-risk tenants. Therefore, having a guarantor ensures that any financial obligations, such as rent payments or property damages, will be covered in the event that the student is unable to fulfil them.

However, if the full payment for the accommodation is made upfront, a guarantor may not be necessary. By requiring a guarantor in most cases, Unibed aims to protect the interests of both parties involved in the tenancy agreement, ensuring that the terms of the lease are upheld and providing peace of mind for all parties involved."
